Ok peeps, I am back and ready to rumble!….. and by rumble, I mean share drool worthy images of my US hauls. Oh, you thought they were over? Tsk tsk tsk. You should know me better by now.

I have chosen today to reveal a new series in posts for TPD, Welcome To My Beauty Cupboard. The basic idea behind these posts is that I want to share with you when I discover a new brand. Often, this will happen when I am on a crazy hauling spree, but sometimes I just stumble across a brand I have never tried before. They may be huge and well known, or they may be niche and unheard of, either way, they are new to me and I am sure new to some of you too.

Today it is Milani Cosmetics, a brand I have heard about for years, wanted to own something for just as long … and finally got to see it in person at Cosmoprof North America!

What Is Milani Cosmetics?

The Milani team is constantly inspired by fashion and color. The Runway Eyes Fashion Shadows were developed with a fashion designers eye in mind with a sleek, innovative design and superior baked formulas; Milani creates couture color at off the rack prices. Women have looked to Milani for their small slice of the impervious world of high-end fashion.

If you couldn’t tell by the official quote above (courtesy of Milani Cosmetics), Milani is all about on trend, fashionable cosmetics. The US owned, Italian made cosmetics are of amazing quality, with ridiculously low prices. Officially known as a ‘drugstore brand’ in the US, they are hugely popular among beauty fanatics around the world.

It is by no choice of mine to have never tried anything by Milani before. I had always wanted to, but with a list of brands I want to try being as long as Santa’s christmas delivery schedule, I had just never got around to it. Here is what I picked up to add to my beauty cupboard:

Blue is my new eye colour obsession. I am determined to find some blue colours that I can work with, and this bright metallic hue was very appealing.

Crystal Eyez Sparkling Eye Shadow in 05 Delightfully Dazzling

I honestly don’t think I have seen an eyeshadow THIS sparkly in my entire life. Not only does it have regular silver glitter, but it is also packed with multi-colour glitter pearls.

Ever since I tried the Napoleon Perdis ‘Patrol’ products, baked mineral make-up is another obsession of mine. The Milani baked eyeshadows and blushes (see below) are the Milani items I have seen most blogged. Picking a colour was difficult!

Probably the one section of my beauty cupboard that really does lack. Ok, maybe not in blushes, but I cant say no to a pretty blush.

Baked Blush in 07 Fantastico Mauve, 08 Corallina and 09 Red Vino

Yep, I said it above. The backed powders by Milani is what I was really lusting for. I had heard so much good stuff about them that I was dreaming about these babies. The colours I picked were all tones I was seriously lacking, purple, red and orange.

I think it will be obvious why I picked up this one. I adore my YSL Touché Eclat, but the hunt for a good dupe is never far from my mind.

I definitely don’t need any more products in this category, but as it is a new found favourite focus when doing my make-up, I can’t get enough of the stuff.

Lip Flash in 04 Photo Flash, 05 Hot Flash and 06 Flashy

Lip colour in chubby stick form has to be the hottest thing going in cosmetics right now. Clinique started that fascination for me, but the bright colours Milani offers really drew me in.

Nails

The beautiful Gia from Bottles and Bottles of Polish is the best and worst person to be around when nail polish is involved. She told me all about the wonders of Milani nail polish and of course I listened. I couldn’t leave the US without getting some.

You know me, I love purple. This baby is purple base with purple and gold shimmer. She looks soooo pretty in the light.
