I am super excited for this weekend. Originally it was because I had no plans and I could sleep off this ridiculous jet lag but then I remembered that this weekend sees the International Spa & Beauty Expo come to Sydney. And it fits in perfectly with all my spa stories I have been sharing this week. Let’s face it, I am now addicted to ‘spaing’, or is that ‘spa-ring’. Hrmmmm making up words is hard.
If being the only expo of its kind to hit Sydney is not exciting enough, then there are some other great things happening over the weekend that make this expo a ‘must attend’. I am probably most excited about the Minx Nail Bar where I will enjoy a Martini and a Mani. If you’re not sure what Minx is don’t worry, you will be hearing about them very soon and after I enjoy this manicue I can finally have my say on the product. Basically, they are unique nail appliqués that celebrities and the fashion forward just die for. The Nail Bar is my destination to try out this new craze and take a breather from all the beauty madness. For $27 that is a bargain, like a good martini can set you back $27?!?
There is a great education program featuring hands-on classes to help grow your business and then there is also a great list of exhibitors. I can’t wait to visit Bloom Cosmetics, Essie Cosmetics, Jane Iredale, ULTRACEUTICALS and Dermalogica.
The expo has even partnered with Australian Certified Organic (ACO) certification group to showcase cosmetic and skincare products that meet their strict standards. Going green is big business at the moment and claiming something is ‘organic’ is one thing, but being certified is what you need to look out for. You must visit the dedicated ACO pavilion if you have even the slightest interest in using Organic products.
Ok so the International Spa & Beauty Expo is a trade only event but let me shed some light on who falls under the ‘trade’ umbrella. If you work in or currently a student in the following industries than you shouldn’t miss out on this event:
