My Disappointing Day

I will warn you now, this post is a bit of a downer. I know lots of people don’t like to read whingeing, negative blog posts so if that is you I give you permission to leave …. but please come back soon :)

Yesterday I told you all about the exciting day I had planned. If you didn’t read it that’s cool, it was all about getting a new look by celebrity hairdresser Dario Cotroneo. Everything had been confirmed a million times so I went ahead and told you all about it which I kind of knew would backfire on me. I usually don’t speak about something before it happens because I have seriously bad luck. Some would say it is just fate (I reckon I must have been a pretty awful person in a past life!).

Alright, you want to know what happened I am guessing? Ok, well I went off this morning, hair was clean and ready to be chopped, I was having a fat day so of course the rest of me looked crappy but at least I put make-up on so my face was semi-ok. Sure, that isn’t the point. You are correct again.

Ok so I arrived at the salon and was greeted by the friendly staff who took my name, and then I thought I heard her say “Ok you are booked in with Sonia today” before she escorted me to my chair. To be fair I wasn’t really listening to the girl because I was looking around and trying to work out what I would like to take photo’s of (typical blogger!). Once I was in the chair, a lovely lady named Sonia came over and introduced herself and asked me to fill in a customer form. Easy peasy. Sonia also brought over a magazine and asked that I tag three photos in the magazine I didn’t like, and it didn’t have to be hair related. Again, I wasn’t paying 100% attention because I swear she said three photos I DID like, so of course I did that task incorrectly and had to repeat it.

It was at this point that I thought I would raise the question to Sonia “Are you doing my hair”? She responded yes. Now I need to point out that I am not usually the type of person to question what is going on. I would usually just let the situation continue, even though it wasn’t what I thought was the plan, and then just whine about it later. This time I couldn’t do that because I had already promised you all an experience with the one and only Dario Cotroneo. Not to take anything away from Sonia, who is the senior stylist and I am sure would be just as amazing, but for me the whole point of the piece was to be about this expensive excursion to the celebrity hairdresser.

I had the choice to stay and have the appointment with Sonia now and an appointment with Dario next year or I could call back to reschedule with Dario in the new year. My decision was to reschedule because as much as I would have loved to stay and have Sonia do my hair, I just couldn’t afford to have it done twice at their luxury salon. For me this was a once off because I wanted to do the story for you guys while I had a bit of money saved, and when I don’t have an income I really have to prioritize.

So unfortunately there will be no Part 2 this year but please check back because I will attempt to get this piece done ASAP.

I also have to say a big thank-you to Laura who set up this appointment for me and I know she feels terribly guilty even though she shouldn’t! Laura even sent me these beautiful flowers which made me sooooo happy but I also feel bad that she thinks she is too blame. Laura, you are a lovely person!

A bunch of flowers taller than I

Aren't they pretty!!

That is a major bummer! I would have done the same thing, better to wait and do it properly. It was very sweet of Laura to send you those flowers tho :)
