Recently, I was lucky enough to attend a Beauty Blogger luncheon to be introduced to the hair accessory brand Scünci. Now I will admit Scünci is not a new brand to me. I became familiar with their products many years ago when I was fed up with normal metal elastics ripping out my hair and my mom went on a mission to find me some relief. She discovered the original No Damage Flat Hair Elastics that I still use to this day.

Cut to me at this event, meeting the brainchildren who brought this brand to the masses where I continue raving about how I love Scünci. I was pronouncing it ‘SCRUN-CHEE’ like I had for many years but to my embarrassment all the PR & Scünci staff were pronouncing it ‘SC-OOO-N-SY’. If I had payed more attention I would have realised there is no ‘R’ in Scünci. Gosh, I am special!

So as I was saying, I was more than happy with my current stash of Scünci hair elastics but my only complaint (minimal at that) was that the more you use them, the more they stretch. I like them when they are brand new and the elastic is hardly used so you can make really tight ponytails. It does take daily use and redoing your hair every few hours but after a while they lose that original tightness. I am fussy and I like to play with my hair so ideally a hair elastic that doesn’t lose its ‘tightness’ would be great.

Enter the new technology from Scünci that will put my tiny issue to rest. The Evolution Gel Elastics are made from Silicone so they are gentle on my precious locks. I put them through some serious testing over the last week and I am amazed! They are still the exact same shape as they came out of the pack and there is no sign of wear. Plus, they are even tighter then regular hair elastics so 2-3 twists and your set for a head shaking death metal concert.
