Herbal Essences – None of Your Frizzness Serum & GIVEAWAY

Herbal Essences Leighton Meester

Luckily I was blessed with strong hair, and it has always been strong but when you have fine hair frizziness is forever present whether it is strong or not. Anyone who has experienced frizzy hair would know what I mean when I say this because you work so hard at getting your hair healthy or shiny or glossy but it still doesn’t get rid of the frizz. This is where specially formulated frizz control serums come in and you NEED to use one if your going to have any chance and getting those flyaway hairs to come in for landing.

Picking the right serum for your hair can be tricky and unfortunately one of those things you discover by trial & error. Until I started looking into using serums I didn’t even know I had fine hair! For me, a serum needs to be light and weightless because fine hair can’t carry heavy products. No matter your hair type you should still aim for the same as me but if you have thick hair it doesn’t matter as much (you guys can carry everything!). I used to assume that if the product is ‘heavy’ then that means it will just weigh down my frizz? It sounded like common sense but that is not how serums are meant to work. Frizzy hair occurs when moisture, or humidity, gets into the hair follicle. Your serum should coat and protect your hair from humidity, never letting that moisture into your hair. So heavy or weighted down won’t stop humidity, will it? Having said all that, this is exactly what the new None of Your Frizzness Serum does. It’s a weapon designed for prevention, but it can also be used as a cure between washes or in a frizzy emergency.

You can use the serum on wet or dry hair, before or after styling. I apply the tiniest drops to towel dried hair and comb through so my hair never gets the chance to go frizzy. It works great with styling tools but when I am lazy or running late and don’t have time to blow-dry my hair, I tie it back and run out the door. Before using None of Your Frizzness Serum my hair would turn into a frizz ball and I couldn’t dare take out my hair tie until I am back in the privacy of my own home because it would release a static charged afro. After using None of Your Frizzness Serum, I have been successful in leaving my hair out to dry, in it’s own time, with no electric shocks or strange looks!

The last little thing I like about this product is the smell. Herbal Essences always come up with the yummiest scents and this has to be one of my faves. This one says it is Mandarin Balm but it doesn’t smell completely Mandarin to me. It is fruity but I don’t think Mandarin when I smell it. Anyway, the point is that it smells awesome and you may end up sitting at your desk all day smelling your hair trying to work out what it is.

Plus anything that works for Gossip Girl lovely Leighton Meester is ok by me. She had this to say ….

“My favourite product would have to be the None of Your Frizzness Serum,” she says. “It gives me a very, very indulgent pampering feeling and I can’t live without it. I get a lot of damage done to my hair and it’s very important to keep it soft and smooth and touchable. It smells really good too.”

What Herbal Essences have to say ….

Herbal Essences None of Your Frizzness Serum uses anti-frizz technology to give you an amazingly sleek style every time, while protecting your hair and leaving it smelling luscious.

Herbal Essences scientist, Dr Jasmine Karsono, says, “Water actually changes the physical properties of our hair. When humidity moves into the hair fibre hydrogen bonds are rearranged and this leads to frizz and style interruption. In our None of Your Frizzness products we have used cutting edge technology to impart humidity resistance to the hair so that your style can stay frizz-free.”

If I didn’t have frizz, then I might have the courage to try a pixie cut. Since my hair is currently so fine and frizz-prone, I’m pretty sure I would end up with an ugly looking attempt at a fro….not pretty!

    Frizzy hair I have.
Not thin but so thick and sticks out so far even know I have the length.
The only time it sits nice is when the hairdressers blow waves it.

If i didn’t have frizz, id be all over those long, glossy GHD kinda curls that Leighton Meester is sporting. Flowy and goddess-like, i want that mermaid hair kind of look :P Sadly, frizz means it has to be straightened before hand to even get anywhere near close, affecting the results :/

  15. Therese says:

I have long frizzy, dry hair. It always reminds me of Salma’s hair (off the Simpsons) that is almost triangular in shape.
anyway I am a creature of habit having spent 13 years with the same hairdresser, but I went out of a limb and got the Keratin Complex smoothing treatment done to my hair this week.
Hair Traders at Macquarie Centre did it for $250 and my hair is now model sleek every day. I don’t love dead straight hair, but it was the trade off to get hair that wasn’t frizzy with uneven kinks.
What everyone has noticed is that the colour looks amazing and my hair looks like it did 20 years ago.
Happy to chat more. I have before and after shots too.

    • Kimmi says:

Wow that sounds awesome Therese. I used to have Ionic Straightening but it ruined my hair. I have been dying to try out the new Keratin Complex!

Keep me posted on how it works out :)
