I know everyone has been blabbering on about the exciting news that Tom Ford will be releasing a full fledged makeup line this September, but I just had to have my say on it as well. Now I have to admit I have never smelt his fragrances but I have been lucky enough to try out his high-end lipstick in the gorgeous Pure Pink, and that one little bullet of colour has me head over heals for Tom Ford (you know, even more so. Not just for his sheer good looks anymore).
The Collection
Ok so pretty pictures will tell you most of the story but I sure do want to know what all those pretty palettes and bottles are. I think one exciting thing to note is that Charlotte Tilbury was the make-up artist Tom chose to work with on creating these products. She is an extraordinary talent and along with Tom’s unique visions this is going to be one collection that will sell out before you can blink.
We can expect to see unheard of makeup inventions like eyebrow pens with calligraphy style tips, as well as 6 products in a skincare line. So why skincare? Well, just like me, Tom believes that good makeup starts with flawless skin. His skincare products will include an oil based serum called Intensive Infusion Concentrate Extreme (what a tongue twister) and Purifying Crème Cleanser, “it goes on like cold cream and the skin feels moisturized and unbelievable” says Mr Ford.
One thing you are all probably wondering, as was I, was about the price point. I am prepared for it to be steep and no doubt I will pay it for things like foundation and palettes because those things are always worth an extra penny. Exact prices haven’t been announced yet but what we do know is they will range from US $30 to US $250. The Private Blend Lip Colors already retail for US $45 and in Australia they are AU $65, so inflation for us Aussies will be a hard hit but I know it is going to be worth it.
Seriously, just look at the below pictures. Are you melting or is it just me?
Lara Stone
Some of the official photos we are going to see flashed around in print campaigns and in-store advertising have been released. Tom has selected model Lara Stone to be the launching face of the brand and I must say she seems to be a perfect fit.
The images clearly promote Tom Ford Beauty as a complete brand, and not just one product in particular. I personally love this approach because it shows off all the strengths of the range, rather than launching one product at a time. This first image, in all its purple glory, clearly shows how pigmented and rich these cosmetics are going to be.
I am absolutely loving that Tom has included himself in the images. Ok I admit it is great to perve, even if it is just half his face, but I think he really adds something. Obviously he oozes sophistication, good looks and a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi that we as makeup lovers want to impart on ourselves. For that reason, I want him in the ads.
Some people might think he is in it for vanity reasons. I can see why you would think that, but Tom has an answer for you ..
“I’m not in the ads because I’m vain. A lot of people still don’t know who I am, and the product sells better with me in the ads. The old designers — Yves [Saint Laurent], Giorgio [Armani] and Ralph [Lauren] — occasionally used to do it.”

I love that comment by him:

I didn’t realise that was him so its cool to see what he looks like. But god damn you are not wrong how pleasing on the eye he is. I love the look of that purple eyeshadow. I hope thats how it looks in real life and it hasnt been photoshopped to look that dramatic. That would be one drool worthy palette for me – I love to wear purple as I have greenish eyes!
Thanks for the heads up!
Agreed. He is lustworthy …. as are his colour makeup!
He is one damn good looking man, for sure. His cosmetics aren’t bad either;) Nice to see those promo shots, I really like them!
Me too Emma. I think they are some of the best promo shots we have seen all year. Bravo, Mr Ford!
I am SO excited this collection! No doubt it will send me broke, but I will consider each product a piece of art. Art is worth investing in right? Haha
Totally an investment but I have no doubt it will be worth it. I am practically writing a positive review in my head now!
Like like the ads! Esp when I didn’t realise it’s him in there! Hahaha! I still want the Champaca Absolute fragrance haha The packaging oozes sophistication
I think that man is just a non-stop oozer. He oozes everything. My heart flutters when I just see an image of him. Ok, maybe I have issues. lol
Ive heard rave reviews about his range. so excited to try something! Just the lippie packaging alone makes me want one, lol x
OMG OMG OMG where have you seen reviews??? OMG. I am so jealous of anyone who has even touched one of these products. I can just dream how one of his palettes will feel. So weighted and the click when you close it will be heaven.
Boy, I think I do have issues ……
Love the promo pics, I think it represents the Tom Ford brand perfectly. Super luxe but still a bit edgy.
Totally agree. I love that nothing is straight forward with Tom Ford. He can’t let ‘luxe’ be what it used to be, he has to make it his own with flawless design and amazing colours. LOVE IT!
This post almost had me hyperventilating because I love chic beauty products and I’m already a fan of the TF lipstick. I saved up for the lipstick and I know I’ll be saving up for these gorgeous products as well.
I hear you Vita. It is utter beauty porn!
[...] takes us on a journey through Tom Ford Beauty. This is a collection I cannot wait to get my hands [...]

Can’t wait until it arrives.
Me too!!! I am so bummed I will be in the US 1 month before it launches. I miss out by that much!
