New Brands Entering The Australian Market

Living in Australia and being a beauty fanatic is not something that goes together well. Pretty much anytime I contact a beauty brand or retailer that I want to purchase from they advise me that our market is just to small (won’t name names but I think we all know a few!). It is the most frustrating response you could tell a shopper …. a shopper who wants to give you MONEY.

However, this month two brands have said “stuff you, we are going to Australia”. Good on them. Here is who you should expect to see gracing pages in our favourite magazines, in our beauty salons, on store shelves and of course, all over the bloggerverse.

Wella Pro Series

Now, first I have to mention that you shouldn’t get this confused with Wella Professionals or Wella System Professional. As you know I already am a huge fan of the other Wella brands but Wella Pro Series is indeed new and different. I am sure this is confusing to some, I know it was to me when I first heard about it but I will explain it a little more. All the Wella brands are made by the same company (Proctor & Gamble) but after having two very strong salon only Wella brands, they realised the need to adapt with the market, and create a much more accessible but still professional quality brand. Wella Pro Series was born, promising all the benefits of the professional stuff but just with a focus on the key essentials

The range consists of Shampoo, Conditioner, Hairspray and Mousse and each are available in a formula for Colour, Repair, Shine and Volume. The good news for us consumers is that we can now pick up professional Wella products at our supermarket for a fraction of the price.

I know I cannot wait to give these products a run for their money. Speaking of money, prices are as low as AU $10.99 rrp for Shampoo and Conditioner, and styling products will set you back a mere AU $7.99 rrp.

Dermaviduals

Have you ever heard of a bespoke skin care system? Yes, bespoke. Meaning a skin care system specially formulated JUST for your skin. That idea probably sounds like of two things …. either absolutely ridiculous or absolutely amazing. I admit it is a hard concept to get your head around but when you think more about it, and read more about this innovative brand, you really feel like this is something that should have been available much sooner. The truth is, Dermaviduals has been available since 1994 but until last year it seemed no one in Australia took notice. Finally, that has changed and we will all be able to learn much more about a new skincare system, currently named Corneotheraphy.

You all know how skincare is a passion of mine so there is no doubt I will be going into this a lot further over the coming months. So far my understanding of the system is limited, but what I do know is that skin care therapists select from a range of base creams, and specially formulate your own creams by adding pure active concentrates. All the ingredients are of the highest quality and contain no parabens, perfumes, preservatives, silicones, mineral oils or emulsifiers.

It sounds great to me and I can’t wait to give it a go. If you want to learn more check out the Dermaviduals website

Its so true, there are so many great brands that really need to be available here in Australia. The Wella Pro sounds interesting, I’ll be giving them a try!

Our protests must continue! Plus i think by giving these new products a go, the other internationals will see their success and come out here as well. Ok I am just praying that is the case.

lol I know Wella from Europe. Never even noticed that it wasnt sold in Australia.
    Any news on Sephora???? :)

    • Kimmi says:

Ye, so we have Wella salon only brands but not the mass market line. It is very exciting in my opinion.

No news from Sephora that I have heard. I am heading back to the states at the end of July so hopefully I can get back in touch with my source. I quiz everyone I come across though.

I just tried the new Wella Pro Series Colour Shampoo and Conditioner, my hair feels amazing, really soft and healthy looking with a delicious scent. Even better I purchased both in a pack for $12 from coles and they are large 750ml pump pack bottles.

  4. Kimberley says:

Those prices for the Wella stuff sound reasonable. Couldn’t find them at my local supermarket today :(

    • Kimmi says:

Oh pooo, where abbots are you, like which city? I know they started dropping into stores last week so really metro and CBD areas will have them and then more and more will get them. My suggestion is to always mention it to the person at the cigarette counter cause they are usually the ones who cop all the feedback. That is how I got my local to start stocking Pineapple Lumps ….. mmmmm, Pineapple Lumps

  5. The price is $69 dollars but it’s worth it because it is the best women’s shaver out there and comparing to men’s razors which are from $100 to $200 dollars (I would know since I bought my boyfriend one for the holidays!)I think this is a very good deal.
