Make Up For Ever Professional – Rock For Ever Aqua Eyes Review, Swatches & Photos

Make Up For Ever Rock For Ever Aqua Eyes Pencils Angle
Ok, you know I love Make Up For Ever (if you didn’t you must be a new reader, Welcome!), so when I saw this kit on Sephora just before new years, I HAD to have it. No questions asked. I finally got it the other day with my new Sephora haul. Unfortunately, by the time I got it (2 months later) they were no longer available and I can’t find it on any of the Sephora websites. Not cool Sephora. But, then again, that is the whole point of a limited edition I guess. Ok, I love you again Sephora.
Oh but WAIT, before you close this screen, all the colours I am going to show you are available individually, and I may have a couple other ways for you to get your hands on it. So all is not lost. Stick with me, I know you will love them!
This adorable kit includes 5 mini versions of the award winning Aqua Eyes waterproof eyeliner pencils, packaged in a handy metal tin. The kit itself is limited edition, however the colours are not.

In The Kit

I love the dark, edgy, rock vibe of this collection. Each eyeliner is .7grams, 7cm long (excluding the lid), waterproof and super long lasting. I find once you have let them dry for about 30 seconds, they won’t budge. The intense pigment you get at first application is the exact same 12 hrs later when your removing it (with an oil based cleanser of course!). I know I am not making sense. It is just the sort of effect Make Up For Ever has on me.

The pencils are 7cm long (excluding the lid)

Colours Included

  • Or #9L (Metallic Gold)
  • Bronze #10L (Metallic Copper)
  • Gris Foncé #21L (Metallic Dark Grey)
  • Noir Mat #0L (Matte Black)
  • Argent #8L (Metallic Silver)

Swatches in natural light

Swatches with flash

As I said, each colour is highly pigmented and they are a dream to use. I usually have extreme difficulty finding an eyeliner that actually prints on my eyes even when I use a lid primer, but these print without any pressure or dragging. Just heaven.

All the colours are metallic except for Noir Mat, and I think it is a great way to add a bit of rock star glam to an otherwise boring eye look. You don’t need to know how to do make-up like a pro with these babies. You just apply and wait for the comments to roll in.

The Packaging

I love it when a limited edition item comes in useful packaging. The Rock For Ever Aqua Eyes come in a black metal tin, adorned with an embossed Rock For Ever motif on the lid. When you take out the foam surrounding that keeps the eyeliners neat, the tin is surprisingly big. For now, I am going to keep it the way it came, but I know in the future I will have a great little box that will remind me of the amazing liners that came in it. Everyone say ‘awwwwwww’.

Details

As I said before, I bought this item through Sephora over 2 months ago, and now it is no longer available. They were selling the kit for US $29. Unfortunately, Sephora had the exclusive selling rights for this product in the countries where they have stores …. this makes finding other stockists very difficult.

BUT, I have found a few places you can still get it ……

  • Make Up Provisions has it for EU ₤27.50 (they do not state their shipping options)
  • eBay US has some showing as still available with a Buy It Now option. Prices start from US $39.99

Alternatively, you can buy the Aqua Eyes eyeliner pencils individually.

AU $26 from PM Studio or Media Makeup

US $17 from Sephora
