Lancôme – Juicy Tubes ‘Juicy Kusama’ Awakening Of Love Limited Edition Lipgloss in Exotic Bomb Review, Swatches and Photos

Lancome Juicy Tubes Juicy Kusama Awakening Of Love 12 FEATURED

For all you adoring Lancôme Juicy Tubes fans, you are in for a special treat. Right now, like today, like this minute … the all new and very limited edition Juicy Tubes by Yayoi Kusama are going on sale in Australia.

For a while now I have had my eye on the first collection of Yayoi Kusama Juicy Tubes. For some reason I haven’t been able to find these in Australia but maybe I didn’t look hard enough. Not to worry though because now there is a brand new collection and from the look and sound of it, these ones are going to be kick ass! For those of you who aren’t aware of Yayoi Kusama, don’t worry. I didn’t until I found out about her collaboration with Lancôme.

The new collection contains 6 glosses that are not only unique in colour, but also in fragrance. Yes, rumour has it that Yayoi actually came up with fragrances to match each of her creations. I think that is preeeeeeetty cool. Before I tell you what I think about No. 12 Exotic Bomb, let’s learn a bit more about the collection.

Standard Lancôme packaging on the outside. Fun on the inside!

The Collection

Today, reflecting the mood of her current artwork, Yayoi Kusama is remodelling Juicy Tubes around the theme of love. She offers Lancôme’s pop-princess gloss three unique designs that are as poetic as the most sincere promises of eternal love.

With dazzling shine, Juicy Tubes Awakening of Love is empowered by a prodigious texture that combines two new generation components. The first is a transparent “mirror oil”, which is more fluid and less sticky than traditional glosses. The second is a “Bouncy polymer”, encapsulated in the formula within chains of beads that are released on application to dress lips with a smooth, even, glossy finish. Juicy Tubes Awakening of Love’s texture plays with light and redefines the notion of mirror shine.

Fruity, energising shades

10 Crazy Yuzu, with radiant notes of yuzu, and boosted with a hint of basil.
11 Vigorous Fruit, where the raspberry fragrance is lifted by a touch of mint.
12 Exotic Bomb, whose gentle strawberry aroma is interlaced with pink peppercorn.

Soothing, floral shades

20 Yoga Vanilla, which unites smooth orchid scents and indulgent vanilla notes.
21 Baba Jasmine, where the jasmine is scented with crushed verbena leaves.
30 Peace & Flowers, with a relaxing violet and juicy lychee fragrance.

What I Say ….

  • The variety of colours look great but I am so glad I got Exotic Bomb. I think the name suits me perfectly. Otherwise No. 10 Crazy Yuzu would describe me quite perfectly as well.
  • I love the artwork on the packaging. The handbag and shoe on No. 11 and No. 20 are my favourite!
  • The smell is absolutely D-VINE. It is beyond standard strawberry. It is like super-charged strawberry. It is an extremely noticeable scent and it does hand around for a while so if you don’t like obviously punchy scents than this might be too strong for you.
  • The colour is a beautiful dark pink, almost verging on red.
  • It is packed with pink, silver and gold micro glitter that shimmers delightfully. On the lips it is actually quite subtle if you don’t slather it on, however, if you want blinding shine than this will do that for you if you apply a generous coat.
  • The gloss factor is substantial. Like all Lancôme Juicy Tubes, this one provides lots of shine and some stickiness.
  • The formula in this one is noticeably different to regular Lancôme Juicy Tubes. When applying this to my lips it seems to spread easier and I can control how much I want to apply. It also doesn’t feel as ‘goopy’ on the lips.
  • I definitely prefer this formula over the regular ones. It still packs lots of shine and I like the absence of that super-sticky feeling.

Ooooooooozy

Glittery goodness

I am totally in love with this gloss. Even though it is an ‘up-market’ lip gloss, I still look at it on a per wear basis. Wearing it on bare lips or just over some lip balm gives my face some much needed colour, and over lipstick it adds some va-va-voom. Either way, this is a lip essential.

The limited edition range contains Bisabolol and Sweet Almond oil with skin-softening properties; and a blend of Vitamin C, B5, E and shea butter for sumptuously protected and perfectly nourished lips. Ginseng and Acerola reinforce the gloss’ energising effect on lips to reawaken the senses.
