Breakouts are quite rare for me, but they do happen. When they do, I feel shame and horror. If you have ever had a pimple, you will know what I mean so I won’t go on about it like I am the only person in the world to experience it. No, instead, I am going to share with you this product that has recently entered my life like a night in shining armour.
What I Say ….
- The tiny little tube looks no different to any other spot treatment, other than the fact it is possibly the most expensive I have ever come across.
- Opening the product revealed a tiny sprout with a small hole in the top. I like this for a spot treatment because you only ever need such a small amount, why have a giant tip. Good job, Dermalogica.
- The instructions ask for you to put a dot of the treatment on your finger, apply to afflicted area and let stand for 5 seconds before patting it to blend in. Sounds simple, but strange. Why not rub it in straight away? I don’t know, but I wasn’t going to ignore the instructions.
- Before applying the product, I noticed was that it was a distinctive dark colour, almost like foundation. When first doting it on my skin I thought it was way to dark, but once blended it worked like a charm and I could barely see any redness from the pimple.
- The product has a strong scent that reminds me of Tea Tree, however that doesn’t seem to be listed as one of the ingredients. So, I don’t know what ingredient it is that smells but either way it was quite pleasant and goes away fairly quickly.
- But the results are why I really like this product. The instructions say to use it until the spot has cleared, but I have only ever needed to use it once per spot. Seriously. One application and 24 hours later it is gone.
This little tube now has prestigious placement on my bathroom vanity. I thoroughly go over my face scoring for any form of breakout everyday, and if I find out, I pop this treatment on and forget about it. LOVE. IT.

Woah you weren’t kidding when you said it was expensive! But for results like that I would gladly pay up.
Ahhh yes Cindy there was no way to sugar coat it. But my belief is prices should reflect the results … and in this case, it is spot on!
I should’ve bought this instead of the mario badescu. RAH.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda … or is it woulda, coulda, shoulda … either way, it is never too late! hehe
Oooh great! Thanks for the review! I’m using clean&clear spot treatment. Which honestly works – but not in 24h except if you apply it on the spot as soon as you feel a pimpel is coming out, once it’s there, it’s too late. But it still makes them dry out and dessapear faster then not putting anything.
I like the fact that that one is tinted, my clean&clear looks like a gel, shiny spot on my face – not very sexy
.
I’ll put the dermatologica on my wishlist
The Clean & Clear treatment is definitely a goodie, but in my opinion this one is better. Of course the severity of the breakout will differ every time but so far I have had more than 10 occurrences and not once has it taken longer than 24hrs.
Oh by the way, I found it at $14 on Amazon.com

Wooo, there you go!
I need this product in my life, don’t get spots often but when I do it always helps to have a product that works on hand to deal with it.
Ye it is perfect for that. I don’t know about for full blown acne sufferers, but for those who just get little breakouts it is magnificent.
Us “full blown” acne sufferers should just hide in shame and horror, I guess.
No, that is not true. I just think this particular product wouldn’t be right for you. There are many products, including a lot mentioned on this blog, that would be great for acne sufferers.
