If you ever went through puberty, or are going through it now, there is no hiding from pimples. Even if you have the most amazing skin you are bound to have at least one pimple in your life. Personally, I rarely got breakouts, but as I get older and experiment with skincare and make-up, that ‘rarely’ is turning into ‘occasionally’.

Back in the day when a pimple showed up I would give it a big squeeze, blood everywhere and 24hrs later all signs of it were gone. But now, my elderly skin doesn’t quite heal the same. These days it is more like …. big squeeze, blood everywhere, weeping for 24 hrs and a giant bruise mark that remains for a week.

Clearasil were always my ‘go-to’ brand when a pimple popped up as a teenager, but now they have come out with a range with the adults in mind. Awesome.

At the time of getting this product, I of course had no pimples in sight. That made it quite difficult to test a pimple clearing product when there are no pimples to clear. Luckily (or unluckily), one of my trusty friends had some pimples on hand that she could volunteer for this experiment. Let’s call her Lucy*. The new range includes a Face Wash that can double as a Face Mask, and a Face Lotion.

What Lucy* Says ….

• After 2 weeks of testing I have found the results are not that drastic. It hasn’t prevented new pimples from appearing, but it has cleared some of them up quicker than usual.
• My skin has been feeling quite dry since using these products. I am not sure whether this reaction is due to my sensitive skin or because the ingredients are much stronger than my usual face products, but it has been a negative effect for me.
• I don’t think the face wash is designed to remove makeup. I found I needed to clean my make-up off with a make-up remover wipe first, before using this face wash to ensure my skin was actually being cleansed.
• I think Clearasil have released better products in the past. I personally would stick to one of the other formulas I know works for me.
• In all I think this product would work better for someone who has non-sensitive, oily skin.
