The new collection from Australis is all about high definition, making your face picture perfect no matter who is snapping you. Specifically, the Paparazzi Perfect collection symbolises to me a very different Australis to what I knew 10 years ago. This collection was like a slap across the face, making me see this brand in a whole new light!
Last week I showed you the High Definition Tinted Moisturiser, which was the first ever tinted moisturiser to win me over. Today it is about the eyeshadows, and boy did they not let me down.
The eyeshadow compacts are not only functional, with their firm closing black case and handy mirror, but also aesthetically pleasing. With 4 compacts to choose from, each one contains 5 colours displayed in a funky diamond pattern. Neat-o.
What I Say ….
- No matter which eyeshadow compact you choose, each colour inside works wonderfully with each other. For the ‘special’ kids like me, this makes applying a coloured eye SO much easier.
- If you just want to go for a simple one-tone eye, just pick one colour and go. Simple!
- The case is really sturdy! Being the klutz that I am, I may have dropped these from a great height while attempting to photograph. Luckily, not a single one broke … actually they didn’t even flinch. Everything looked the exact same on the inside, and the mirror and case were still in tact.
- All shades are pearlescent, so they contain a fair amount of shimmer. If you are older and already have wrinkles on the eye than you will need to avoid these.
- The formula must be magical because the powder just glides on like silk and the pigment is intense. Blending is easy and when teamed with a eyeshadow primer (Australis actually make a great one for a mere AU $12.95 rrp) they last for hours.
- They all adorn that catchy pink foil branding that makes me giddy.
Now for the individual reviews and swatches. The below description of the colours are my own reflection of what I think they look like, but actually slightly differ from how Australis describe them.

Totally Busted
Colours: Grey, White, Purple, Pale Peach and Pink
The purple in this shadow compact is to die for. I know I am going to use that one up long before the others (such a purple fan I am). The pink also makes for a great blush, and the white can be used as a highlighter on the upper cheek bones and under the brow. This multi-tasker is staying in my handbag.
Frock & Roll
Colours: Coral, Silver Grey, Watermelon, Charcoal and Light Silver
For someone who hates pinky-orange colours, the watermelon shade in this compact is actually really beautiful. It has a real pink base so of course I am going to love it. The mix of silvers gives you lots of options for creating a great silver-smokey eye, and the coral is nice & bright perfect for opening the eye or adding a pop of colour to a neutral look.
A-Lister Sista
Colours: Gold, Brown, Dark Taupe, Chocolate Brown and Pink Orange
Firstly the thing I am loving most about this set of colours is that it screams autumn to me. The browns are warm and will totally work for you if you like doing colours to match the season. The addition of the gold and orange give some colour to work with and makes it versatile for a day-to-night look.
Snap Attack
Colours: Pearl, Grey Brown, Very Light Orange, Taupe and Orange
I see this as a slightly more elegant version of A-Lista Sista. The colours are a lot more subtle and compliment each other lovely for a ladylike look. The pearl colour is quite light so it won’t work on everyone but if you have skin dark enough to pull it off than you need to get it!
My Favourite
I thought this would be harder to pick, but for the fact it has two adorable colours that happen to be my favourite (pink and purple, duh!), the winner has to be …….. *drum roll* …….. TOTALLY BUSTED!

I really like these colours! Went into my local Priceline and tried the whole lot, was very impressed!
Your right about the shimmer though, definitely a product for the younger market
I own Snap Attack. My favourite is the Taupe! I’m enjoying the palette, but would not re-purchase again.. maybe in another colour (busted!) I would love to see makeup tutorials using these compacts alone, but there doesn’t seem to be anything on the net
Hi Monika,
That is a great point about tutorials including these palettes. I will put it out there to some of my YouTube friends and see if they can create some. I personally am just not good enough at makeup to even attempt a makeup tutorial with an eye palette. I will let you know the links if they put anything up!
