Nine West Releases First Fragrance ‘Love Fury’

This is not good news …. for me. My two addictions have collided in what will sure to be damaging to my bank account. Beauty, I want you to meet Shoes. Shoes … Beauty. Please play nice.

Nine West has to be the one shoe brand that takes up the most room in my closet (and by closet I mean my floor). It doesn’t just stop at shoes though. I have bags, sunglasses, jewellery and even their leather care products. Now, I can look forward to their Eau De Parfum!

Love Fury EDP

Love Fury by Nine West

The fragrance, due to be released mid January 2011, is the first in a collaboration with fragrance production house Inter Parfums Inc. The packaging is rather genius in my opinion, clearly choosing a bottle stopper in the form of a black stiletto heel. I love it!

Cosmoprof North America – Day 2: Impressive Products and Brands

Sneak peak at my Shellac manicure, featuring 3 of the new shades

I won’t lie. The morning may have started off a little rusty after a little dinner session with Katie Cazorla the night before. I totally blame Katie. She is a bad influence. However, I had no time to be rusty because Day 2 kicked off bright and early at 8:30am.

Day 2 was all about brands. I wanted to see some brands, experience some of the products and get a glimpse of new releases. Nails seemed to take centre stage on this day, but I will be doing a separate post to show just all the amazing stuff we can expect to see over the coming months.

Deborah Lippmann

Manicurist extraordinaire, business maven and surprisingly talented singer, Deborah Lippmann, was extremely kind to offer up her morning to sit with us beauty bloggers to discuss her new collection. If you aren’t familiar with the Lippmann Collection of nail lacquers than you are missing out big time. They are just beautiful!

Deborah talked us through her inspiration behind how she comes up with colours, and it is crazy. Here are some things I learnt that I never knew.

  • Deborah started out in life wanting to be a Jazz singer. She still sings and has released an album, but it is more of a recreational focus.
  • All the names of her nail lacquers name are actually names of songs.
  • She will often have to create colours for celebrities or fashion designers based on their outfits … sometimes with only hours notice.
  • All her lacquers are 3 free and not tested on animals.

Aside from all that, the most refreshing thing about Deborah is how down to earth she really is. She is entertaining, amusing and genuinely sweet. Go girl!

Details: Deborah Lippmann lacquers are available in the US and Internationally. You can purchase online from Beauty Bridge (International Shipping available) or visit the website to find your nearest stockist.

Sephora – 3 Days, 3 Hauls: Part 1

Sephora Las Vegas Haul 1 Day 1 FEATURE

Did you have any doubt there would be some serious hauling from my trip to the US? Shame on you if you did. The first thing I did when I got to my hotel in Las Vegas was chuck everything in the room and make a bee line for Sephora. Even if you aren’t a beauty fan like me, that is exactly what you should do when you land in the USA. Man, woman or child …. go to Sephora.

To kick off what will be many haul posts, I thought I should start with my most eventful first three days. Let’s take a trip back to ……

ULTA – The Rant: The Lead-Up, The Expectations and The Disappointment

I am an Australian Beauty Addict currently in the USA. There are some things that are going to be of high importance to me. One of those things is obviously going to be Beauty Stores. More specifically, Beauty Stores I have never been to and heard so much about. One of those stores is ULTA.

The Lead-Up

I have known for a long time that ULTA is not one of those stores designed for tourists. They are usually located in relatively suburban areas and for that reason I have never been able to find one on my previous trips to the USA. This trip I decided to make a concerted effort to locate one and make sure I schedule time to get there. That day was yesterday and despite the unwavering heat, I was very excited.

I decided to head to Town Square mall before hand as it was already half way between my hotel and ULTA at Silverado Ranch Plaza. Getting to Town Square was easy thanks to the amazing bus service known as The Deuce that runs up and down Las Vegas Boulevard. From there the only ‘easy’ way to get to Silverado Ranch Plaza is a Taxi ….. or hire a car but I can barely drive in Australia, there is no way I am attempting suburban USA. US $30 and one very chatty Taxi driver later, I was at ULTA.

Tom Ford Beauty – The New Cosmetic Collection I Need

The Tom Ford take on 'Nudes'. There is still nothing subtle about this look. LOVE. IT.

I know everyone has been blabbering on about the exciting news that Tom Ford will be releasing a full fledged makeup line this September, but I just had to have my say on it as well. Now I have to admit I have never smelt his fragrances but I have been lucky enough to try [...]

The Fragrance Foundation Australia – Top 20 Favourite Fragrances of 2010

Lola comes in 3rd place after a double win to Chanel

Perfumes and fragrance are something I openly admit knowing very little about. For me it is up there with wine and cuts of meat. Wouldn’t have a clue. Yesterday an email popped into my inbox from The Fragrance Foundation Australia and it was something I found very helpful. Why, you wonder? When people ask me [...]
