Veet – Suprem’Essence Spray-On Hair Removal Cream Review

Veet Suprem’Essence Spray-On Hair Removal Cream

Previously I have reviewed a few products from Veet, including the Suprem’Essence In-Shower Hair Removal Cream. If you haven’t read that review I strongly suggest you do, especially if you like embarrassing stories that shouldn’t really be shared on an open forum. Anyway, I got my mother to try out the sister product, Suprem’Essence Spray-On Hair Removal Cream and I wanted to share her brief review.

Sephora Haul USA 2011 – The Missing Haul

Last week I showed you my long lost nail polish haul from my last trip to the USA in 2011. Stupidly, I also had a long lost Sephora haul stashed away in the same bag as the nail polish. If you aren’t familiar, or simply forgot, my last trip to the USA had me shopping up a storm from Sephora. There was Haul Part 1 and then Haul Part 2, so I guess this could be considered Part 3.

Here were my final Sephora purchases.

Old Magazine Beauty Ads – 19 Magazine from 1973

19 Magazine June 1973 Cover

I love looking at beauty ads in magazines. Modern magazines are now filled with them, often coming close to taking up 50% of the entire magazine, but that wasn’t how it was 30 odd years ago. How do I know? During the holiday season my mother and I started to address her hoarding of unnecessary memories. In one of the many piles of junk, we came across some old women’s interest magazines from when she was a young lady. Today I am going to show you the ads from an issue of 19 Magazine from June 1973.

The front cover

What Is 19 Magazine?

19 Magazine was a women’s interest magazine produced by IPC Magazines in London. It was sold in many countries, including Australia (for just 50 cents!), New Zealand, Rhodesia (which I think is now known as Republic of Zimbabwe), Nigeria, Canada and Sweden.

The topics covered included beauty, fashion, fictional stories and a heavy focus on music.

Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Enhancement Trends of 2011

Woman getting injection in lip FEATURED

Now that 2011 is over we can take a look back and reflect on some of the past trends. No trend interests me more that plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancement. Despite the fact I don’t believe these procedures should be ‘trend based’, it is hard to ignore that certain trends do appear, especially when there are new breakthroughs of advancements.

I spoke with Dr Scott Ingram, Australian plastic surgeon and Vice President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) about what we saw in 2011 and what we can expect in 2012.Read the rest of this post

The Biggest USA Nail Polish Haul of 2011

Nail Haul USA 2011 Jessies Girl

Remember how I went to Cosmoprof North America way back in August last year? Don’t worry if you don’t, I forget things too. In fact, I kind of forgot to finish unpacking my luggage until … oh let’s just say …. Christmas! Despite having already shared my haulages from Milani, CVS, Ulta, M.A.C Cosmetics, and Sephora Part 1 and Part 2, there are in fact a lot more products I haven’t shown you yet. Yes, yes, I am sick and I have issues. I know.

Today I am going to show you the mega nail polish haul. To be honest, I don’t know what I was thinking collection all this nail polish because even if I painted my nails everyday for the next 100 years, I will never get through it all. On the plus side, they are all just soooooooooo pretty.

Some of the polishes you will have seen before as I pulled those out in the early days, but the majority were buried deep in a bag. Here I go ….

Zoya

Zoya create beautiful nail polishes all individually named with female names. I have always wanted to try their polishes but had never seen them in person until I went to Cosmoprof.Read the rest of this post

Miss Piggy – Style Icon for MAC Cosmetics and OPI

Miss Piggy For MAC Cosmetics Collection Headshot

With The Muppets all the rage at the moment, there has been an unlikely style icon emerge from the madness. Her name is Miss Piggy. If any children are around please remove them from the room before continuing any further ………. Ok, now that the kids are out, I shall continue. It is hard to believe that a 30-something year old piece of fabric could become the pinacle of style, but that is what Miss Piggy has done.

Most recently, Miss Piggy was selected as inspiration for a M.A.C collection. Very few ladies of the world can say they were the sole inspiration for a collection. And when OPI decided to release a 12 piece collection purely dedicated to The Muppets new movie, Miss Piggy was the only star to receive THREE lacquers named after her. Some of the movies stars didn’t even receive one!

Let us take a look through the limited edition cosmetics no Miss Piggy fan can live without.
