What I say ……

This week I have continued on my path of trying out hand creams and moved on to the ‘good for you’ A’kin Lavender, Geranium & Jojoba Hand, Nail & Cuticle Creme. Boy that is a loooooong title.

As you can probably tell from the said long name, it contains Lavender, Geranium and Jojoba which really gives off that organic-like scent. The smell to me is quite florally in that I can smell the lavender the most, but it is more of a pot-pouri type Lavender. You know, that dried-out, strong kind of scent. It also contains Vitamin B5, Vitamin E and Shea Butter. The vitamins provide a soothing feeling and has worked wonders after applying dog ear medicine (that stuff itches!).

The formula is a little thick and you only need a small amount. When you first start to move it around it feels a little too moist and you do need to rub for a good 60 seconds or so but once it is all rubbed in you’re only left with a slight balmy feeling. After a couple more minutes the remaining residue sinks in and your left with smooth hands. The rate in which it absorbs is all dependent on your skin type and how hydrated you are, so it can be quicker/slower for each person.

I especially like this cream because it also treats your nails and cuticles. It has been doing its job on the hard skin around my nails but I find if I don’t use it a few times in a day then the hard skin does reform. Having said that, I have had no hang nails while using this hand cream so it must be providing a good level of moisture.
